Hundreds of Capital District residents are anticipated in attendance at Greenfest. We will be welcoming local civic leaders, providing entertainment, food and arts vendors, selling seeds and seedlings, offering workshops on a variety of “green” topics, and a variety of other things to do for young and old. We are also planning a green car showcase with the support of area automobile dealers, and plan to have a number of area non-profit organizations on hand with informational displays. We will also be dedicating our recently-completed greenhouse - the walls of which are made from recycled two-liter soda bottles.
The Bethlehem Children’s School, located at 12 Fisher Boulevard in Slingerlands, is an independent elementary school established in 1995 to provide a positive learning experience for children. In our program, children learn cooperatively, working together and helping each other, rather than competing against each other. The pace of learning is determined by each child’s own developmental readiness, rather than a standardized timetable determined by age. The motivation for learning is the child’s innate curiosity rather than the external influences of examinations and grades. The school provides a low student to teacher ratio, where teachers can create an environment that draws out natural curiosity and fosters the development of a genuine, life-long interest in learning.
We thank you in advance for your support, and look forward to seeing you at Greenfest!
