We began by discussing equipment needs, hours, and promotion for the showing of The Story of Stuff at the Hudson River Coffee House, 229 Quail, on First Friday, Sep 7th. We will run the 20 minutes short continuously from 6-9P. Sandy will bring mini flyers to advertise the screening of The Age of Stupid in October.
We’re approved for The Age of Stupid at the APL main branch for Sun. afternoon, Oct. 14th starting at 1:30. We will discuss refreshments and event promotion at our CDTN meeting on Sep. 18th.
Ryan and Terrence have agreed to forward the promos for both movie screenings to RPI, All over Albany, Keep Albany Boring and Nippertown. Amy reminded us about the Capital District Permaculture network for promoting events.
Dennis presented an overview of how Channel Albany is working and the possibilities for Transition to promote our organization and ideas to about 300,000 homes! Needless to say we were all excited about that and I’ve suggested in a separate email that we have a meeting devoted to having our own program. Please contact Sandy at email@example.com if interested in participating in Transition TV.
Ryan is going to book us for a table at Harvest Fest which will come out of our SEFCU account. Harvest Fest will be Sunday afternoon, Sep. 23rd (at the Lake House?). Dave H., Terrence, Frank, Fred, Ryan and I all volunteered to work. Sandy offered to make mini Transition flyers for distribution.
Dave told us of the Transition Training that will be taking place the weekend of October 5-7th in Woodstock, NY at KTD Monastery. We of Transition Albany are all invited down for a Sunday afternoon meet and greet.
Dave also told us about a Future Studies group he’s been following which, like Transition, views history from a near future date and operates under preferred and possible scenarios. He circulated some literature. For more info, contact Dave at firstname.lastname@example.org.
