Description: We all know we are facing a transition, but of what? Underneath our systems of energy, technology, and money, a deeper shift is underway: a shift in the defining myths of our civilization. In this session, Judith and Charles will explore how each level of transition interrelates, from the political to the personal level.

About Charles: Charles Eisenstein is a teacher, speaker, and writer focusing on themes of civilization, consciousness, money, and human cultural evolution. His writings on the web magazine Reality Sandwich have generated a vast online following; he speaks frequently at conferences and other events, and gives numerous interviews on radio and podcasts. Writing in Ode magazine’s “25 Intelligent Optimists” issue, David Korten (author of When Corporations Rule the World) called Eisenstein “one of the up-and-coming great minds of our time.” Eisenstein graduated from Yale University in 1989 with a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy, and spent the next ten years as a Chinese-English translator. He currently lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and serves on the faculty of Goddard College.

About Judith: Judith Katz is a community organizer, nonprofit consultant, and longtime practitioner of NVC, a Katzcommunication methodology developed by Marshall Rosenberg, PhD, in the 1960s. Judith co-founded the Connection Action Project, a Transition-oriented affinity group integrating spirituality, social action and empathic communication, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She moderates the Transition SF East Bay listserve, spearheads her neighborhood's disaster preparedness initiative, and organizes occasional transition-related events. She has offered NVC trainings to government agencies, churches, peace groups, cooperative organizations, occupations, and on nonprofitwebinars.com.
